Discovery is sounding the alarm facing the next worldwide pandemic with the global premiere of “Mosquito” on July 6th. The upcoming documentary, Narrated by Oscar® nominated Jeremy Renner, focuses attention on the Mosquito, the single greatest agent of death in modern human history, and has become a global crisis.

A&E Network premieres new original documentary “O.J.: Guilty in Vegas” tonight, September 21. The 2-hour special tells the whole story, unraveling new details, around O.J. Simpson’s arrest and conviction for armed robbery in Las Vegas.

“This special reveals new details through previously unreleased tapes including interrogation audio from the case and voicemails from O.J. himself as well as never-before-seen files and exclusive interviews – including Judge Jackie Glass, Las Vegas Lead Detective Andy Caldwell (retired) and prosecutor David Roger  who all helped bring Simpson to justice,” according to A&E’s press release.

This compelling documentary, “O.J.: Guilty in Vegas” features exclusive interviews with Las Vegas Detective Eddie LaNeve, Detective Linda Turner and Robbery Sergeant Rod Hunt. Additionally, the middleman in the robbery between Simpson and the victims, Tom Riccio, shares never-before-heard details about the case and new information from bail bondsman Miguel Periera.

National Geographic’s new series, “The Story of Us with Morgan Freeman” premieres October 11th. Tomorrow night, the Discovery Channel premieres an all-new series, “Finding Escobar’s Millions” following two former CIA officers set out to uncover drug lord Pablo Escobar’s multi-billion-dollar fortune said to be buried across Colombia.

A&E Network announced it will premiere a powerful documentary “Warren Jeffs: Prophet of Evil” focused on the untold story of the incarcerated cult leader.

Examining the mind and psychological background of the polygamist leader Warren Jeffs, the documentary “pulls back the curtain on the now imprisoned religious prophet to an estimated 15,000 followers of the FLDS Church who, before going to jail for two felony counts of child sexual assault in 2011, is said to have married at least 78 wives and have more than 50 children and controlled millions of dollars for the church,” says A&E’s press release.

“Warren Jeffs: Prophet of Evil” is a special two-hour documentary giving viewers an inside look at a cult community led by Jeffs including interviews with his family and former members of the church “and the story of Elissa Wall, the child bride who became the lead witness in the trail that ultimately put Jeffs in prison.”

Showtime’s docu-series “The Trade” debuted on February 2nd, and will air the season finale tomorrow night, March 2. Directed and executive produced by Oscar nominee and Emmy^® winner Matthew Heineman, “The Trade” “spotlights the crisis through the eyes of those most affected: the growers, addicts, cartel bosses and law enforcement hopelessly caught in its web,” according to Showtime press, “From Columbus, Ohio to Guerrero, Mexico and countless cities in between, the opioid epidemic has ravaged communities on both sides of the border.”

This series truly displays a large picture of this epidemic from the poppy fields in Mexico, to police raiding dealers, to families visiting loved one in cemeteries. The production is so well done, and the timing of this series is critical.

In the Showtime press release Heineman says, “My goal with the series is to highlight the human side of the opioid epidemic through hopeful and emotional stories on both sides of the border. Although each character’s world is vastly different, they are all caught in the same machine – trapped in a never-ending cycle of dependency that they attempt to escape from.”

A&E Network announced a special two-night event premiering an original “Biography” documentary “GOTTI: Godfather & Son” on June 9 and June 10. The story of father and son raised in the mob, John Gotti Jr. shares an intimate account of the rise and fall of the Gambino crime family and his last visit with his dying father, John Gotti Sr.

“The narrative spine of the documentary is never-before-seen segments from a 90-minute video of the last visit between a dying John Gotti Sr. and his son at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, MO.  It was during this meeting that John Gotti Jr., asked his father for his blessing to take the unprecedented steps of quitting what might have been one of the last of the major mafia dynasties,” says the A&E press release.

Animal Planet has announced the premiere date for the new, highly-anticipated, Irwin family series honoring the Crocodile Hunter’s legacy.

The new show will honor the legacy of their husband and father, Steve Irwin according to The Middletown Press.

Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin will star in a “Crocodile Hunter”-like series that will premiere October 28 on Animal Planet, marking the first time the family will appear together on the network in 10 years.

CNN reported that the Television Academy honored late host Anthony Bourdain on Sunday with multiple wins at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Bourdain won six awards for his series, “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,” which airs on CNN.

They included two individual awards for Bourdain, one for outstanding writing for a nonfiction program and another for outstanding informational series. Bourdain’s awards were accepted on his behalf by peers and co-creators. Executive producer Nathan Thornburgh said, “The one thing about this loss is it’s not ours alone… everybody had a selfie with him, but more importantly I think everyone felt like he had spoken to them over the years and that’s helped a lot, to feel like we’re not alone.”

CNN will premiere the first of eight final episodes of “Parts Unknown” on September 23.
